Irving McLeod was born in Oxford, England and first became involved in hypnosis many years ago when he borrowed a book on ‘Self-Hypnosis’ from his local library. Since that time his interest in hypnosis has grown, but it was not until the late 1990’s after spending many years working both in the UK and overseas as a ‘design engineer’ in the Oil & Gas industry that he looked into the prospect of becoming a professional hypnotherapist.
He was living happily in the North East of England with his family for over 35 years, but decided in 1998 that he wanted to become a qualified Hypnotherapist. He subsequently attended ‘The Northern College of Clinical Hypnosis’ in 1999 where he obtained his ‘Diploma with Distinction’ and set up his Hypnotherapy practise in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear. In 2002 he decided to extend his field of expertise by looking into the possible benefits of other alternative therapies such as ‘Energy Meridian Therapy’ in conjunction with Hypnotherapy. He undertook a course in Thought Field Therapy (TFT) at the basic level and became qualified to become a TFT practitioner using basic algorithms. Wishing to improve on his knowledge of TFT further, he contacted Dr. Roger Callahan the founder of ‘Thought Field Therapy’ in the USA, and enrolled for the advanced course in Causal Diagnostic TFT in Rome in 2003, where he qualified to practise as a Thought Field Practitioner at the advanced level using ‘Causal Diagnostics’ and Muscle testing techniques.
After running a very successful practise for 4 years in the UK he moved to the Costa Blanca, Spain in 2004 to set up his practise in the Torrevieja area, and found that by combining TFT with Hypnotherapy, his success rate of helping clients with their emotional problems increased tremendously.
Always looking for ways to improve his expertise in this area of therapy, he saw some demonstrations of a relatively new Meridian Therapy called ‘Emotional Freedom Techniques’ (EFT), and was very impressed with the results. He contacted the only qualified EFT trainer in Spain and undertook a training course in this ‘Tapping’ therapy, and is now one of the few fully qualified practitioners in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) on the Costa Blanca, Spain.
