Tapping with Teens

LIVE EVENT INAUGURATION DAY EFT TAPFEST 2009 IN BROOKLYN, NY:

We of EFTBrooklyn.com called it a “Meet up to Tap for Obama,” and it turned into a “TapFest and Balloon Bust” when we heard that almost 100 teenagers from the 10th grade of the Landmark High School in Harlem, were looking for the right place to watch the historic inauguration on January 20, 2009. We said that they were indeed invited and to come on over. The teachers staggered their classes’ departure from Manhattan and came in shifts to Brooklyn on the subway.

We then decided to make it a memorable celebratory party for those young men and women, and it helped that the Brooklyn Business Library, 280 Cadman Plaza agreed to be the venue. Their auditorium had room for 200 seats, and a set up for projecting the TV onto a giant screen on their stage. Perfect. The teenagers and their eight teachers accompanying them from uptown gave us rapt attention on the stage as we demonstrated EFT on ourselves and explained what it all meant before Obama came on the screen.

A local bakery had donated little cakes to add to the party and the supermarket around the block gave us cases of bottled water; enough for everybody, including the library staff. We brought in 200 big, colorful balloons with long strings trailing and floated them in the large room filled with well-behaved students (and a smattering of adults from outside), who were listening to Obama’s acceptance speech.

When our new president was finished, it was really time to celebrate, We did that by busting all the balloons, which was like the excitement of fireworks and quite a cheerful sight as everyone got in a party mood. The kids loved it.

When we finally got their attention again, we EFTers had them follow us on the stage in tapping their good energy and wishes for Obama and his new administration. They looked at us and repeated our words and seriously mimicked our tapping points. They got it immediately. And they willingly repeated our words as we all tapped to change themselves to help the country and to volunteer whenever they could, reach out to others and be good to themselves, too.

Then they were gone, along with the cake; but still excited. The clever teachers had them walk over the nearby, mile-long, but magnificent Brooklyn Bridge before they got the subway back uptown on the other side.

Those 14 and 15-year olds will never forget their attendance at the Brooklyn EFT Barack Obama Inauguration Day.

THE HIGH NOON TAP

Thank you to all who tap each day at noon, for our global brothers and sisters. On top of our list right now:

Please hold space and tapping energy for those who continue to suffer in Syria, those rebPalestine and Jerusalem, the troubles in West Africa, the nuclear aftermath that continues in Japan, the slow rebuilding in the Phillipines, conflicts and refugee situations across the world.

There's never a lack of things to tap for! Worldwide conflicts affect us all, and displace millions.  Natural disasters such as tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and drought also abound, so keep them in your thoughts as well, please.

When we practice tapping with our global brothers and sisters, we ARE ONE.  Let's SHIFT, together, with one another on behalf of those who cannot - for whatever reason. Thank you!  You may simply want to tap for their grief, healing, and also for the chance to bring peace to themselves and others.  Here in the states, we continue to ask you to tap with us,  using our recent bombing and shooting tragedies in this country, in support of non-violent solutions and better mental healthcare! In times like these, we offer prayers, surrogate tapping and advocacy, using our power to change what is within our power to change -ourselves and one another.

Please post onto the Forum section your comments, requests and results.  With deep gratitude,
