EFT and Qigong Combined

Take your time and don't rush your Qigong practice.  You don't have to do it all in one sitting.  Better to do a little than none at all.  Even better to have the whole experience by setting aside some time for yourself.

The more you practice using Qigong with your EFT tapping, the easier it'll start to feel more natural. When this happens you might start feeling more connected to your Universe.  Not a bad trade off for a little deep breathing and some mindful intention.  Good job and tap away.

Basic seated posture

Seat up in your chair, back straight, but relaxed. 

Feet flat on the ground to connect to Yin energy, Earth. 

Shake out your hands. 

Head rests comfortably on your shoulders.  Try not to let it sag or rest on your chest.  This makes it easier to receive Yang energy; the Universe, the Cosmos.

Tongue stays in contact with the roof of your mouth to keep an unbroken circuit of energy flowing.

Your eyes are gently closed and relaxed.

All this makes for a nice pathway for your energy to travel up and down. 

Basic hand positions for gathering Qi. 

Rest your hands on your thighs, palms facing up and take 3 cleansing breaths.  Inhaling and exhaling through your nose.

Each one deeper than the next and really try inhaling into your belly and exhaling with a sigh. 

Breathe normally again and take a moment to notice what kind of thoughts may have come up because of your day.  Make a mental note of what you thought as either important or upsetting.  Perhaps it brought back a negative memory that you thought was behind you.  Make a mental note and just hold it there in suspension before you. 

If you were to give it a number for emotional intensity from 0 to 10; 10 being the strongest and 0 being the least intense, what number would you give it?

Because the practice of Qigong is about being present in the moment, picture a small box before you and put any of those negative thoughts from the past and the number that came up inside the box.  If it has a lid, gently close it.

Take a few cleansing breaths

Notice things about your body, what hurts, which muscles are tight, do you feel agitated, is your breathing steady or is your breathing shallow?

If your neck and shoulders are tight, massage them, roll your shoulders, and release any tension in your body.  Even stand up if you have to and shake it out any tension.

This is all perfectly normal the feelings and sensations you’re having.

Take a few more cleansing breaths.

With your palms still facing upwards to the nourishing energies of the Universe there’s an area in the center of your palms called the Lao Gong.  This area is about the size of a quarter and it collects Qi and transmits Qi.  It’s one of the many openings on your body that works like this.

Give yourself permission to let healing happen and nourishing energy in.  Let it flow into your body through your Lao Gong point.  Slowly begin to raise your hands up and cross them over your chest and let them rest lightly over your heart chakra.  Bringing the energy you gathered from your palms to your heart.  Don’t worry which hand crosses which hand at this point.  Do what feels natural to you.

Remember to breathe by taking cleansing breaths.

Remember the box?  Look over at the box.  Has it changed in any way, shape, or form?  Without opening the box what number do you think is in the box.  Did it go up or down?  Do you feel as connected to the box and its contents as before?

Continue to breathe.

Now I want you to gently and slowly raise your hands from your heart so the sides of your hands touch each other.  Both your palms face you as though you’re cupping water.  Raise your palms up and let them hover over your third eye and notice how you’re feeling.

Where is the box with your thoughts and feelings?  Ask yourself, what do I want to do with these feelings in the box?  Will they still be there when I look or will they be gone? 

Take a moment to breathe in 3 cleansing breaths

While your hands are still over your third eye, allow the healing powers of the Universe to work for you by flooding you with opening up the possibilities that what is in the box can change into either something useful, a lesson, a focus for you to work on it, or will it be discharged completely. 

When you feel you completed accessing how you feel; slowly lower your hands towards your lap and cross your palms over your belly about 3 inches below your navel.  This area is called the lower dantien where your pre-natal Qi is stored.  It’s good to gather Qi from the cosmos and replenish your body with it.

Sit here quietly; take a few deep breathes into your belly and decide if you need to focus on what was your original problem in the box.  Note any changes in your body.  Example; Are you now nervous, stressed, or anxious about what’s inside the box?  Has your view on your problem shifted to something else?

As you sit quietly note that you have just gather Qi through breathing and your palms, nourish your middle dantien when you placed your hands over your heart, nourish your upper dantien when you expended on your third eye, and finally resting your hands on your lower dantien.  You’ve connected to your 3 major energy areas of your body.  In this position of neutrality where nothing can harm you, where there are no worries, nothing can disturb you; decide what you want to do with your box and its contents now that you isolated the problem. 

Note how your body is feeling right now.  Are you hot, what’s your breathing like; shallow or deep and steady?  Where are you in your body?  Are you in your head wondering what this all means?  Are you in your gut?  Is there tingling? Are you smiling?  Is your brow wrinkled or relaxed.  Where are your shoulders, up near your ears or relaxed?

Take a few cleansing breaths, gently open your eyes and awake to your surroundings.

If you wish to expand even further start and use your fingers to tap on the edge or side of your hand.  This point is called the karate chop point. 

Tap, KC even though I still have some of these fill in the blank problems I know I can work on them.

Even though this is fill in the blank problem that won’t go away on its own I know I am confident that I can continue with dissolving this fill in the blank problem, and feel safe about it. 

Even though having this fill in the blank problem used to hurt me so much I know this hurt is coming from my past and I live in the present.

I deeply accept that I am not the only one with this type of fill in the blank problem and I love and accept myself anyway.

Reminder points.

TH - This fill in the blank problem I thought I got rid of because it happened so long ago

TE - This fill in the blank problem I’ve never let go. 

EB - This fill in the blank problem that seems to think it serves some purpose.

SE - This letting go I need to do because it safe to discharge it

UE - This fill in the blank problem that I free from the box and give back to the Universe to take care of for me.

UN - This fill in the blank problem that I protected because I felt so much shame, embarrassment, about it.

UL - This fill in the blank problem that was big then is now not so big after all

CB - This fill in the blank problem, these feelings, all the emotions I’ve held on to all these years.

LP – I let go of them all.  They have no place with me anymore.

KC – I forgive myself, I was young, I was just a kid, I didn’t know what to do, or who to turn to.

I free myself and disengage from the emotional pain my young years has caused me.

I accept where I’m at with this process and I now know that I am no longer helpless.

I am safe now.  I am grounded with Earth energy and nourished by the energy of the Universe.

I am safe now.  I am safe now.  I am safe now.

Thank you to all who tap each day at noon, for our global brothers and sisters. On top of our list right now: 

Please hold space and tapping energy for those who continue to suffer in Syria, those rebPalestine and Jerusalem, the troubles in West Africa, the nuclear aftermath that continues in Japan, the slow rebuilding in the Phillipines, conflicts and refugee situations across the world.  

There's never a lack of things to tap for! Worldwide conflicts affect us all, and displace millions.  Natural disasters such as tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and drought also abound, so keep them in your thoughts as well, please.  

When we practice tapping with our global brothers and sisters, we ARE ONE.  Let's SHIFT, together, with one another on behalf of those who cannot - for whatever reason. Thank you!  You may simply want to tap for their grief, healing, and also for the chance to bring peace to themselves and others.  Here in the states, we continue to ask you to tap with us,  using our recent bombing and shooting tragedies in this country, in support of non-violent solutions and better mental healthcare! In times like these, we offer prayers, surrogate tapping and advocacy, using our power to change what is within our power to change -ourselves and one another.
