"Being a little bit more positive" using the Choice procedure, Véro's versionFor this script, specially designed for the 20th January 2009 Tapfest, I have chosen to use the following "Choice" procedure which was designed by Dr Pat Carrington who is a renowned EFT Master. For more information on her and her other products, please visit Other links
I use this procedure in 90% of my work with my clients. However, I have added some variations to the original procedure (I have mainly added some tapping points which I find particularly efficient).
This is a very effective shortcut version of the basic recipe which enables (some might say empower) the person using EFT to give a different and more positive outcome to an issue.
With this variation of EFT, the setup affirmation is of the following pattern:
"Even though I have this issue, I choose to something very positive."
One example could be: "Even though I am dreading meeting my son's teacher, I choose to remain calm and confident."
Note 1: "I choose to remain calm and confident" is the standard choice in this procedure and it "fits" with every problem/issue; the same way that "I truly and deeply love and accept myself" can be used for any problem/issue when using the basic EFT recipe. As with the original EFT recipe, you can adapt the text so that it fits your circumstances.
However, take care to only use positive terms when formulating your choice and avoid all negative words/phrases. For instance, avoid "I choose not to". On the other hand, it is highly recommended to use adjectives and superlatives such as: super, fantastic, magnificent, fabulous, etc. so that to put extra emphasis on the positive aspect of your choice.
Note 2: I prefer to tap with all the fingers of my hands, with both hands at the same, on both sides of my body (but that is my preference ;-). For more info on how to tap, click here.
Procedure Start with evaluating your issue by giving it a note on a scale of 0 to 10 (0 being no problem whatsoever, and 10 being the problem at its worse).
After repeating 3 times out loud the affirmation (given below) while tapping on the karate chop point (or while rubbing the sore spot), you then proceed as follows:
One 1st round of tapping on the points of the shortcut version of EFT while repeating the negative part of the affirmation. The points to tap are: Eyebrow - Side of Eye - Under Eye - Nose - Chin - Collarbone - Under Arm - Under the breast - Inside of the wrist - Head.
One 2nd round of tapping on the following points: Eyebrow - Side of Eye - Under Eye - Nose - Chin - Collarbone - Under Arm - Under the breast - Inside of the wrist - Outside of the wrist - Head - Twice on the back of the head, each time with one hand.
Finally, a 3rd round (optional but highly recommended as it reinforce the link between the issue and the solution in our subconscent) using a mixture of the negative and the positive parts. Start with the negative on the Eyebrow point, and then you alternate between the negative and the positive on the subsequent points until you reach the point under the arm (where you should be on a negative). From that point you only repeat the positive part of the affirmation on the remaining points: Under the breast - Inside of the wrist - Outside of the wrist - Head - Twice on the back of the head, each time with one hand.
So, for our special event, I have come up with the following script for "being a little bit more positive". Of course, feel free to adapt it and use your own words:
The Setup Affirmation While rubbing the sore spot:
Although there are loads of things I cannot do right now, I choose to truly and deeply love and accept myself, the way I am right now without judgement and with gratitude.
Although I have loads of limitations in my life, I choose to remain calm and confident and positive no matter what.
Although I carry loads of negativity in my life, I choose to always respond with forgiveness, kindness and love, no matter what.
While tapping on the karate chop point:
Although I get loads of negativity from others, I choose to thank the Universe to deliver me with all good things.
Although I am very limited in what I can do, I choose to thank the Universe to support me in everything I do.
Although I am often stuck and limited, I choose to thank the Universe to fulfil all my good intentions.
Negative round: EYEBROW: I am limited and negative in my life.
SIDE OF EYE: I have loads of can'ts in my head.
UNDER EYE: I often think this is not for me.

UNDER ARM: I choose to relax and let it be easy and fun to be more positive.
UNDER THE BREAST: I choose to allow myself to be a little bit more positive in everything I do and everything I feel.
INSIDE OF THE WRIST: I choose to let it be easy and fun no matter what.
OUTSIDE OF THE WRIST: I choose to reclaim my ability to be positive.
HEAD: I choose to acknowledge that feeling and thinking positive is my birthright.
ON THE BACK OF THE HEAD (ONCE WITH THE LEFT HAND AND A SECOND TIME WITH THE RIGHT HAND): I choose to remain calm, confident and positive no matter what.
Mixture of negative and positive: EYEBROW: I am always negative in whatever I do.
SIDE OF EYE: I choose to forgive myself and whoever is responsible.
UNDER EYE: I am often thinking of the worse.
